Three Wheeled Buggies

New figures show that the three-wheeled buggies that were the emblem of the noughties, which had more money than common sense, are in a steep decline. Four-wheelers are replacing them, and are more versatile and easier to drive while still looking elegant.

MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy on an infant as well as a child who was 3 wheeler pushchair years old and found it to be extremely sturdy. It was able to withstand cobbles, grass, and rough pavements as well as dirt tracks and kerbs. She said that it felt solid to push and very stable on difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable, so require periodic pumping) offer built-in suspension, which was very comfortable for my kids.

Another thing to think about is the seat size and shape. You want the seat to be large enough for your child to be comfortable and to allow them to lie down. Certain three-wheel buggies have an option to lie flat completely while others only allow for a parent facing one.

Easy to maneuver

The only drawback of this great mobility is that the 3 wheel buggy's larger wheels do sometimes mean that it will struggle in tight spaces - something to be aware of if you live in a urban area. If this is the case, a 4-wheeled buggy may be the better option for you.
