Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The stats of an item can be improved by upgrading it, which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment boosts the stat linearly.

The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items are not able to be repaired or replaced without dismantling the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use but it hasn't been incorporated to gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel.
