World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to boost an item upgrader kit's gear score up to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you bring them to the kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded for their unique stats (like an ideally broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) and others, like weapons, don't change much post upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a single unit. This bonus may be more than the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can cause.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and level. For instance the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue rise until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.

Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. While this is usually a good thing but it can also have negative consequences as well. Upgrades can make items impossible to use, unless you are exceptionally lucky.

The ability to upgrade armor items to increase their stats. In the case of chests or helms, this will increase its base defense while a belt and gloves will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor also has an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats that it will get when upgraded, along with their relative values. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon receiving 33% attack damage. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will strike for 3 times less often, since it is an absolute number.

A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button with circling arrows in the menu for items. The item will be rerolled and change its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.

Armor

A few tweaks to your armor can make a huge differences in your ability to endure. Certain sets offer massive increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which makes traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the greater defense your character has the more value you get out of each point of health you possess and it's crucial to upgrade your armor as much as you can.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game, and to unlock them all, you must complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main side quest and completed the fountain that corresponds and then you can speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrade menu.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. It is possible to use anything between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for example, can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which allows you to keep up in cold environments with a large group of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense so that you're able to survive a battle with friends.

You can't upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical strength or the power of spells. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you'll wear to fight the final boss, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to gain some benefits to your armor. Generally, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is useful to have a few upgrades to your helmets and chest armor that permit you to sneak past some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, give an immediate effect. There are five kinds of potions, each having particular effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. Alternatively the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.

Potion upgrades cost a certain amount of XP. These can be earned by making them using a craft table or in an Alchemist's chest. However, the cost of upgrading will vary based on the type of potion you want to upgrade, and also on the item upgrader's Mark Level as well as its rarity.

To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens an GUI where you can select the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they will produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.

Once a potion has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you use it again or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.

There were some changes to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for instance have now a duration of 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item. The table of potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. Additionally, using a potentio on a full cauldron, it drains the potion and refills the bottle.

Finally, there are lingering potions that are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to potions that are lingering to increase their effect. The table of potions is laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as the potion of leaping and the potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket could be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece jewelry. It could also be a small ornament or object that serves a function but is not important as a trinket. In some traditions, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, specifically between family members.

Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons, armor, and potions. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets, unlike other items which can be upgraded can be traded at will without losing statistics.

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.

Upgrades to trinkets are an economical alternative to buying new ones. You can upgrade their trinket for as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same level of base as the old trinket, but it also comes with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they're no longer needed and allows players to boost their power and value over time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.

In general, players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, then their secondary items and finally, other pieces of gear that they will not be replacing soon (for instance an earring or cloak). When deciding on which items to upgrade players should take into account their class's preferred statistics. For instance when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks it is recommended that they upgrade their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and chest.

Once they have become useless trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1% bonus. Re-upgrading can cause damage to the trinket unless it can be salvaged using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
