Guild Wars 2 Item upgrade item

The stats of an item can be enhanced by upgrading it, which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment boosts a stat linearly.

Players can recycle six items at one time to gauge each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling items scales depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to increase the stats on your armor and weapons. This can be achieved by a variety of methods such as using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity of an item or item upgrader mod its mark level. A lot of items can be reforged to increase their stats.

Upgradable items can be found all over the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. Upgrade components are the most common method to upgrade equipment. These are the items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment comes with upgrade slots, and most require a certain level of upgrade. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while others offer general bonuses.

There are a variety of upgrade components available in the game, such as universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments can be used in any kind of equipment and offer fewer bonuses than those that are equipment type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools and provide numerous bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed of the item's collection to supplying additional crafting materials.

Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The window will show an overview on the right side of the screen showing the expected stats after the upgrade, as well as any required components or materials. If you don't possess enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.

The amount of upgrade components required for a specific Item Upgrader Mod is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The price of an upgrade increases as the level and rarity of the item increase. However, you can reduce the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a merchant or trading them with other players.

Almost all weapons can be upgraded with a prefix upgrade like an insignia or rune, and many can be upgraded using an upgrade suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item, adding an adjective, for example "Radiant" or "Minor vigor. The only exceptions are the noninscribable wands, foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any mods at all.

Glyphs

Glyphs are an effective instrument for communicating visual information. They animate to capture the attention of the viewers and trigger interest in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in communicating the message of a language barrier. Glyphs also improve the retention of messages by creating a familiarity in the brain.

Each glyph has a range of values it can enhance a stat, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This is the maximum value that a glyph could improve a stat by and not the amount it actually improves the stat by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the Best item upgrader you are in awe of it.

Most upgrade components inserted into items cannot be replaced or salvaged without removing the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use, but it hasn't been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.

If you wish to remove a glyph from an item upgrader mod then you'll need to salvage it with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will destroy the item within which it is placed however, you can salvage the upgraded item with the glyph and its fragments, therefore, it shouldn't be considered as a loss.

When you take away an item after adding a glyph the shards of that glyph will disappear. You can also add a glyph to your equipment to give it an extra benefit. For example the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and then deal it out slowly instead of all at one time. This is useful for players who suffer many hits from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens let players alter the affixes on their weapons and equipment, and can be found in a variety of ways such as in mistery boxes, as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Each reroll token gives players a new random affix that is usually better than the original one. Reroll tokens are also a great way to reroll weapon stats, which can be upgraded for better damage or perks.

Rerolled items don't appear on the menu for item upgrades, but they are still able to be upgraded. By pressing the "upgrade button" you can recycle the recycled items. This will alter the design of the item's window, and allow up to six items be selected for recycling. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its level, therefore items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower level ones.

Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls roll a percentage chance for a weapon's trait. If it scores higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

Rerolls are a great option for upgrading an item, but users should be aware that it could reduce the total ilvl of the weapon based on the number of rerolls required to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This lowering effect is most effective on Diadems and ring items that do not have any other options for raising ilvls.

Players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It would be fairer to allow people to pay for it with cash or food items that will allow players to make changes to their builds without having to spend excessive amounts of time. However paying for rerolls is not something the developers want to implement at this time in the game's development. They're planning to include an ingredient that allows players to alter their race in the future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to level up an item upgrade. The first is to increase the upgrade amount that increases the value of upgrading a given stat. The second is to boost the effect of an upgrade which increases the damage or heal of a particular stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. After this the new item will retain its iLevel, but will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.

It is crucial to remember that upgrades are not guaranteed. In the majority of cases, a better roll is determined by glyphs. However there are instances when a greater or special roll can occur. The type of Best item upgrade will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a unique item type, it's likely to gaining an additional level.

The cost of upgrading items can be expensive especially if you're upgrading a piece of equipment from a standard to legendary track. The price will be based on the item's base iLevel and the number of upgrade levels it comes with. Certain upgrade tracks require crests to reach the next level.

If you're lucky the upgraded item could get to the top of its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional effect. This will provide a significant increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect changes with each upgrade level. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased by +3.

Based on the item's base level and its upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change as well. For instance an item upgraded from being a rare or unique item to an exceptional one will have the chance to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item.
