World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item upgrade that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This is a good idea however it should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.
