Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is among the best ways to improve your gear without relying upon massive drops or trade. This article will show you how to upgrade your gear.

Upgrades in equipment can add an increase to the item's base stats. This bonus is based on the upgrade component level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components can make your weapons and armour better. You can find them by destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in the form of item-spheres. They can also be rescued from equipment that has them, or through the highest-quality salvage kits like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Contrary to other products upgrades aren't destroyed when removed from an item.

Upgrade components are primarily used to improve an item however, they can also be used for other purposes. They can be stacked in order to increase the level or the amount of experience gained by upgrading equipment or weapons. They can be forged for additional benefits. A glyph that has been crafted can increase the upgrade item chances of its target, and an upgrade boosts the defense or attack capabilities of a weapon.

You can bind an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. It will display an upgrade component list that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench for selecting an upgrade template. In either case, the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been collected.

Each component has a unique experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item gains when upgraded using the component. Organic components, for example, have a higher multiplier of experience than mechanical components. It is therefore recommended to upgrade using organic components until you have reached the experience multiplier for the next rank of the weapon or gear, then move to mechanical upgrades.

In addition to the multiplier for experience, each item also has the maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of upgrades is determined by the rank that can be upgraded and the type of upgrade for the upgradeable item. For example, the highest possible weapon upgrade is a weapon with tier 10. However, the most commonly used weapon upgrades are a tier 6 weapon and a tier 5 armor upgrade.

Sets

A set is a set of items that share the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and each upgrade boosts the guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade an item or set piece is that it will be given a +1 increase to its primary stat. Following upgrades, the primary stats will be boosted even further (for instance, +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its stats will increase randomly.

Upgrades can also increase the base damage of a weapon. This may be important for certain types of builds. Weapons aren't upgraded to give greater maximum defence rolls than their base. Upgrades can be a great option to increase the value of a set and unique items, however it's important to remember that they're not necessarily more effective than a high-level raneword in any build.

If you are upgrading an item that has a bonus the item can be rerolled one time and the guarantee will reset back to zero. The same amount of power die is used to roll an item as it would be to increase its level. However the new item comes with different bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll need a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the appropriate amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be purchased with Gold at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collection. The NPC will also offer an extra reward for each tier of the upgrade items process. The reward can be rerolled a single time with the same materials and components as the first item.

Rerolling

If a player has enough tokens for rerolling, they can play rerolling any item they've acquired during the game. When an upgraded item gets rerolled, it will be exchanged for an equivalent level 1 version of the same item in another set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for an amount of in-game currency, but they cannot be refunded. The new item will offer the same bonuses as the original, but the statistics will also be different.

In addition to rerolling items, players can also alter the identification of any equipment by engaging with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identification from a weapon to armor or vice versa, while retaining its base stats and required attributes. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters who own the equipment.

The player can also upgrade their level of the item for any equipped equipment. This is done by interacting with an upgrader NPC and obtaining upgrade components. It will cost a specific amount of crests and Valorstones according to the upgrade track and item type. In the case of weapons, each upgrade will add an additional 5% to its damage.

Upgrades can increase the capability of an item upgrader kit, but they also decrease its quality. It is therefore important to keep both in check. All armor and weapons apart from practice equipment gain these stats upon leveling up. The value of these stats will be determined by the market, with a perfectly perfectly rolled version of a weapon or piece of armor can command significantly more trade value than non-upp'd versions.
