What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader adds a new widget to the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. The Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors and offers no gaming benefit other than making it easier to view and buy upgrades.

Boosters

With an upgrader for items you will be able to enjoy a number of bonuses. They can include a range of stats, as well as many additional bonuses. Some items have an inherent boo that is less beneficial when upgraded, like the Goldwrap which provides additional slots for potion. These are usually upgraded to inject more value into a perfect or near-perfect item.

Costs

Upgrades come with certain costs associated with them. The most significant cost is the upgrade itself. It can be costly and is dependent on the new ilvl of the item and the number of perks it gets. It can also be costly to upgrade an item to a higher level (such as Explorer > Champion, or Veteran > Heroic).

The other is the cost of the materials needed for an upgrade. These are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons, or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords Of Draenor Quests. These materials are available in the inventory of an Upgrade Vendor.

Upgrading an item upgrader kit is a complex process that takes time. It can take up to 8 hours, depending on the magnitude of the upgrade. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated based on the Best item upgrade's new ilvl bonus, perks, as well as other properties. This calculation determines the latest Armor Class bonus, damage dice, and other crucial statistics. In certain cases, an upgrade can grant additional perks. These perks are listed on a table.

It is also possible to add a variety of additional items to the upgrade, thereby increasing its chance of success. The materials are displayed in a separate window above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is shown directly above the + button.

Another way to increase the chance of an upgrade achieving success is to use an item known as Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is helpful if you have an item or weapon equipment that has reached the maximum level for its tier or is close to it. It allows you to upgrade the equipment to the next level without risking it breaking.

If an upgrade fails it will be restored to its previous state. This is typically a downgrade, but can also be an upgrade. Keep an upgrade in reserve until you are nearing the highest level for an item.

There are several items in the Kafra shop that can be used to improve the likelihood of an upgrade succeeding.
