The best robotic mop and vacuum Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and it leaves your floors spotless. Its surprisingly affordable price and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Be sure to inspect your robot's brushes for hair that is tangled and large particles and clean them as required. Some models will also empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in a larger bin located at the base. This reduces the amount fine dust that gets released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top pick) they employ smart mapping technology to design precise floor plans and eliminate common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also have the feature of Carpet Boost that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests of floors with no carpet They are also adept at cleaning hair from dogs. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our first option. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to get stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a good value particularly if your office or home has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save some money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you're at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to take on dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be replaced with a wet one in minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also features strong suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensor technology that can keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and provide more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and set up zones with the well-designed app. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to remove and extend its mops. This will help prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm is perfect for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to clean an entire home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a decent cleaning job on a variety of flooring and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was superb, and it avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, [Redirect-302] but it has superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically empties into its base, and also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robotic cleaner and mop vacuum/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba rather than the boxy units, this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive designs in our evaluations. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It features advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot hoover and mop we tested that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work or at night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and more attractive. If you're willing with a little more noise and some extra cost, this is a very powerful two-in-one that will delight most.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine that is similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and cleans and dry mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and spot obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house based on how dirty these areas tend to be.

For bigger homes it's recommended to choose models with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a particular area of your home via the app or voice commands. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have number of furniture. For busy families, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off can be extremely useful.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you'd expect from its price tag. It is a great job cleaning, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate the mapping process that collects data on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and under furniture more easily. It also has a strong 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for hair of pets. You can also create a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to getting caught on low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
