Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain a level gauge for each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling items scales with their rarity and item level.

Upgrade components

An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved through various methods that include using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. Additionally to this, many items can be reforged, which can increase their stats.

You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available throughout all over the world, as well as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The upper-right corner shows the number of upgrade components required for the specific item. The cost of upgrading increases with the level of the upgrade and its rarity, but it can be reduced through various methods, such as buying upgrades from a retailer or trading them with other players.

Nearly all weapons can be upgraded by the use of a prefix upgrade, such as an insignia or a rune. Many are upgraded by an upgrade suffix. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to communicate visual information. They animate in order to grab the attention of the viewer and entice curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics body language, making them more effective in conveying a message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph increases the value of a stat by a certain range. This is clearly displayed on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the highest value that the glyph can increase a stat's value by and not the amount it actually increases the stat by. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier and quality of the item that you are in awe of.

Most upgrade components slotted into items can't be replaced or salvaged without removing the gear in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been incorporated into your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece equipment by utilizing the Upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

If you want to remove the glyph from an item level upgrade then you'll need to save it using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item will be destroyed within which it is placed but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item by using the glyph and its shards therefore, it shouldn't be considered a loss.

Adding a glyph to an item may cause it to become unstable, and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory when you dismantle the item. You can also apply an inscription to your equipment to give it a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer instead of all at once. This is useful for players who take a lot damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, including mystery boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player an unspecified affix, which is usually better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.

Rerolled items don't appear on the menu for upgrade options, but they can be upgraded. When you press the "upgrade button" you can recycle the items that have been rerolled. This will alter the design of the item's window, and allow up to six items be chosen for recycling. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its own level, so higher-level items are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.

Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling Weapon Traits to upgrade units. Rerolls will determine the % chance of a weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded, and if it is lower, it remains the same. Weapons can be repeatedly rolled up to three times.

Rerolling is an excellent option to upgrade an item. The system of rerolls has been criticised by players for being too expensive, and it would be more fair to let people pay for it using money or a food item that allows players to alter their build without a lot of time and effort. However paying for rerolls is not something the developers are planning to implement at this point in the game's development. They are planning to add a potion that will allow players to alter their race in the future.

Leveling

There are a number of ways to increase the level of an upgrade to an item. The first method of leveling up an upgrade for an item is to increase the amount of upgrade. This boosts the upgrade value for any stat. The second is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which increases the damage or heal of a specific stat. Finally you have the option to upgrade the base item to a more powerful upgrade type. Once this is done the new Best item upgrader will maintain its iLevel but it will be upgraded with the effects of the upgraded type of item.

Based on the item's base level and its upgrade process, the iLevel for the upgraded item will change too. For instance an item that has been upgraded from a rare or unique item to an outstanding one will have the chance to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base Best item upgrader.
