It's an excellent option for moms who are recovering from a C section as you can easily lift your baby towards you to feed them at night or change their nappies without getting out of your bed. It's also extremely easy to assemble as Georgina who participated in our MFM tests was able to put it together quickly and didn't even need to look up the instructions. It's also a fantastic travel cot. It folds flat and can be popped into a bag.

The Next2me Magic, which was shortlisted for the Best Cot, Crib or Moses Basket at the 2021 Mother&Baby Awards, is also on the larger side but is still quite small and easy to put into your bed. Georgina found it easy to put together, however she did feel the zips could have been better described on the instruction sheet.

Easy to clean

Find cribs with removable mattress covers which can be washed in the machine when you are looking at cribs for bed or travel cots. This will help keep it free of leaky nappies, baby sick and dribbles. It is also recommended to choose a model that is easily disassembled, allowing you to clean and sanitise all the nooks.

This is crucial, since it's the best way to be sure that all germs and dirt have been eliminated. You'll also want to check that the sides of your crib are securely attached, so there are no gaps or spaces where your baby could potentially fall down or get trapped.
