WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for the latter due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. button, which displays an image of the item upgrades when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Many locations offer item upgraders, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade must be acquired through several methods which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was altered a bit, with numerous new features added. When a player has an upgrade to a specific level of an Item Level Upgrade for a specific armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will be less expensive, even in the event that they are part of a different gear set.

The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced also, but is only available when certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an item upgrader mod that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, depending on the kind of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests only have one purpose and it's crucial to use them wisely. For instance it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the best equipment you have and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character that will be able to benefit from the account-wide discount when all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
