Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one session and without the need to switch devices. They can also reduce space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins and refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads from an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its relatively modest price, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start manual can get you up and running in no time. You'll have a the complete dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

You can, for example ask the robot vacuum cleaner best to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only drawback is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but an instant glance at the history of cleaning within the app will show you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks must be completed including emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the full cleaning details in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood although we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot mop and vacuum, is the most up-to-date version. Unlike last year's model, this one features a double agitator in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pick up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may be unable to pick up.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It is able to change its course automatically and clean around the objects without stumbling.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek angular design is striking and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank self-empties and the bin auto-refilling.

The only issue I encountered in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary) but it's a challenge to take off the mount itself for manual washing. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these smart features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track the battery's life. You'll need to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its intelligent design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while also saving time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum mop cleaner robot can clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry mess. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. Additionally the X40 is quiet in operation, only producing occasional squeaks of sound when switching modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.

Another standout feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brushes, that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. The robot is also able to reach under low-profile furnishings which makes it a great choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that helps the X40 to prevent damage to floors from repeated back-and-forth movements.

Contrary to other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is easy to use and intuitive and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers many convenient features, making it a perfect option for busy families. The docking station can automatically cleans the dustbin and mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also tell when the mop pad is full and alert you before it gets overflowing, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. However, it has several features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature of its mop heads, makes use of two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is beneficial because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.

There are plenty of options, including the option to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options for customising the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are a lot of features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, instead of relying on an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen on the market, with a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list but it's not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. Mopping is well designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
